Installation of Mobile Clinic at Okinawa Miyako Hospital
On April 2015, Okinawa Miyako Hospital has newly established Okinawa Miyako Family Medical Center in the aim of strengthen medical care at home. Upon this establishment, the prefectural hospital has installed Mobile Clinic in June.
Mobile Clinic, designed and fabricated by Toy Factory International, is a tool to provide medical services to hard-to-reach areas such as rural, back-country and remote islands where lives are vulnerable. In the name of preventive care, Mobile Clinic has plenty of requisition in Japan as well as overseas.
On July, Okinawa Miyako Hospital held a media event. Unveiling the vehicle as well as reporting how they have utilized the vehicle usefully past month. Dr. Motonaga said, “We are grateful that we introduce Mobile Clinic. It makes even more community-based medical services possible.” At the media conference, they showed some case study of how Mobile Clinic has been effectively operated for needs including bedridden-patient transportation.
